Fascinating Chart is a History of Books that Predict the Future

It's often said that art imitates life. But, if the infographic Prediction or Influence? A History of Books that Forecast the Future is any indication, it could certainly be the opposite. The UK-based company Printer Inks compiled a list of books ranging from 1735 to 1990. In them, each author makes their own declarations on the future. Prediction or Influence tracks, in years, when these things were actually realized or invented.

The Chandelier That Produces a Shadow Forest of Wild Trees

A year and a half ago, we told you about Forms in Nature, a stunning light sculpture by Hilden & Diaz (Thyra Hilden and Pio Diaz) that casts shadows of trees throughout a room. The 3D printed piece takes eight hours of assembly by hand. Created in Copenhagen, the beautiful chandelier took the world by storm. The first 100 editions quickly sold out, and a new 100 editions is currently under production.

Vintage Cars Glimmer with Stunning Reflections in Hyper-Realistic Painting Series

Playful Drawings Pair Animals with Sign Language Alphabet

Chicago-based illustrator Alex Solis teaches us American Sign Language with the help of charming and colorful drawings. Combining photography and his cartoonish style, Solis adds small critters to pictures of hands that form different letters of the sign language alphabet. The animals playfully interact with each hand that corresponds with the first letter of their name. Solis' imaginative drawings feature octopuses, zebras, unicorns, and many more.
