Luxury Yacht is the First to Feature a Floating Garage

Yachts offer incredible luxury on the sea, and the Italian company CRN has produced one that's unlike any of its kind. The 196-foot vessel is named the J'Ade and is the first to feature a floating garage. This innovative addition enables the owner to store and access a 26-foot speedboat without the use of a tender lift. Its hydraulic-operated bay can dry out in three minutes and then be transformed into a terrace-accessible ocean pool.

Cambridge-based visual artist Lia Melia creates strikingly energetic paintings where curling and crashing ocean waves splash and splatter across the canvas. Having grown up near the sea, that is where artist Lia Melia continues to find her inspiration. “The seas moods can always express my deepest feelings,” she explains. Melia uses a technique that is unique to her work in which she bakes powder pigments and paints onto a sheet of aluminum or glass.

Detailed Wood Portraits Crafted Using the Marquetry Technique

Atlanta, Georgia-based artisan Rob Milam uses the technique of marquetry to produce beautiful works out of wood veneer. If you're not familiar with this craft, it's the creation of an image using natural woods as the medium. Pieces are first cut and later glued on a substrate; it's kind of like assembling a jigsaw puzzle.
