Oscar de la Renta’s Dramatic Gowns Transform Stained Glass Into Haute Couture

There’s an ancient, almost regal essence to a stained glass window. That can perhaps be attributed to the frequent appearance of windows in traditional and especially Gothic architecture, whether in a church, library, or university. The art form’s legacy has since been transported into the contemporary world, courtesy of the renowned fashion house Oscar de la Renta. As part of its Fall 2024 “Art Nouveau” collection, the brand re-envisioned stained glass mosaics as “shattered-glass” gowns.

This Freediver Held His Breath For Over 29 Minutes Underwater, Shattering World Record

On June 14, 2025, Vitomir Maričić dove into a three-meter-deep pool in Opatija, Croatia. He quickly situated himself at the pool’s bottom, remaining there for an astounding 29 minutes and three seconds. By the time he reemerged, he had officially beaten the world record for the longest held voluntary breath by nearly five minutes. On average, a human can hold their breath for about 30 to 90 seconds.

Non-Profit Uses Public Art To Activate the Once-Forgotten Spaces in Seattle’s Pioneer Square

For over a decade, the Forest for the Trees has been transforming the visual landscape of the Pacific Northwest through art. The non-profit has collaborated with 150 local and international artists to enhance Seattle’s public art scene. In July, they held their annual event, inviting 23 artists to create panels to activate the space around the Pioneer Square neighborhood.

Paul Reubens Wins First Primetime Emmy Posthumously for ‘Pee-Wee as Himself’ Docuseries

Over two years after his passing, Paul Reubens, who entertained millions of children during the late 1980s as Pee-wee Herman, has won his first Emmy Award posthumously. As the subject of an insightful HBO docuseries titled Pee-wee as Himself, Reubens earned the award for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys. Shortly before his passing, Reubens sat for more than 40 hours of one-on-one interviews with director Matt Wolf.
