Marble sculpture is a cornerstone of art history. The ancient Greeks left a legacy of transformative sculptural works that reached for unprecedented naturalism in Hellenistic gems such as Venus de Milo and Nike of Samothrace. This was succeeded by the ancient Romans, who copied their major works and created portrait busts and equestrian statues of major historical figures. At the time of their completion, however, these ancient masterpieces looked remarkably different.

Chinese Artists Are Creating Beautiful Silk Embroidery Using Traditional Techniques

When art enthusiast Ying H turned 30, she quit her job to travel the world and rediscover what made her truly happy. During this time of self-exploration, Ying reconnected with her Chinese heritage, which she says she neglected for most of her life. This sparked an idea for a new path, and Ying founded the online store Yingifts, which showcases traditional silk embroidery by dozens of Chinese artists.
