Artist Turns One of the Last NYC Phone Booths into Bursting Display of Flowers

Floral designer Lewis Miller arranges beautiful blooms in the most unexpected places in New York City. For nearly three years, he and his company, Lewis Miller Design, have transformed trash cans into larger-than-life flower vases and used blooms to embellish the subway system as public art. They do so using heaps of vibrant and artful arrangements that are an awe-inspiring sight.

Perfectly Timed Photo Captures a Person “Holding” a Total Solar Eclipse

The magic of forced perspective photography can make even the most impossible feats seem real. Photographer Albert Dros demonstrated this with an amazing image of a recent total solar eclipse in Chile. He captured his model, Bart Lablans, “holding” the eclipse once it had reached its totality. If the picture of Lablans reminds you of the of travelers who seemingly push, lean on, or hug the Leaning Tower of Pisa, it’s supposed to.

Interview: This Artist is Giving 10,000 Artworks Away for Free After His Exhibition

Denver-based artist Jonathan Saiz believes everyone should have art in their life, so he decided to give 10,000 of his own pieces away for free. He spent an intense 5 months creating his collection of two-by-two-inch drawings, paintings, and sculptures—all of which explore the idea of utopia. All 10,000 works are currently on display at the Eyes On exhibition at the Denver Art Museum on a single 33-foot-wide pillar called #WhatIsUtopia.

Though he occasionally uses everyday objects such as coins and crayons in his pattern arrangements, Hillman primarily aligns elements that are perishable and prone to expiring quickly. The artist demonstrates that the likes of fruit, candy, bacon, and eggs don’t need to be eaten right away.
