Disney films have some of the most unforgettable animal characters. With their endearing personalities, big smiles, and kind eyes, you can’t help but say “aww” every time they come on screen. If you wish your pet could have this type of star animation treatment, you’re in luck. Illustrator Isa Bredt transforms real cats, dogs, foxes, pigs, and more into cartoons that look like they could be the star of your next favorite Disney film.
Bredt calls her project Pet Disneyfication, and all of her drawings are done in the “old” Disney style you’d see in films such as 101 Dalmatians or Lady and the Tramp. She was inspired to sketch this way because she has always loved the aesthetic. In order to perfect her skills, Bredt got her start on a subreddit where you could offer free art to people. She used it as a way to practice the style; and the more she drew, the better she got. Now, she takes on commissions from people around the world.
In addition to these assignments, Bredt regularly Disneyfies your favorite Instagram animals. Juniper fox, Maxine the corgi, and the one-eared cat named Vinny van Gogh have all been given the Disney treatment and made even more charming than they already are. But, that’s not all of Bredt's illustration subjects. As a way to give back, she works her magic on pets that need adoption in hopes of amplifying animals that are looking for their forever homes.
