At first glance, you might think this is a photo of the late Steve Irwin. But look again and you’ll see that it is instead his 16-year-old son, Robert Irwin. The boy, who has carried on his father’s legacy, recently snuggled up to an adorable koala just as his father did so many years ago. With their blond hair and a clear passion for wildlife conservation, it’s no surprise that Robert is the spitting image of his dad.
This isn’t the first time that fans of the Irwins have noticed the similarities between Robert and Steve. Robert regularly poses for photos with animals in the same way that his dad did. Sometimes, he’ll even share him following in his father's footsteps by placing the images side-by-side. In a tweet from July of 2019, for instance, Robert showed pictures of both he and his father feeding Murray, a crocodile, at the same place just 15 years apart.
The pictures shared of Steve by Robert and his mom (Terri) and sister (Bindi) are poignant reminders that the world lost a man who cared about our planet and the creatures that live on it. But in seeing the photos of Robert, we know that Steve’s message lives on.

He also shares photos of the two (separately) exercising their passion for wildlife.

Although photos of Steve are a reminder that the world lost a man who cared about our planet, it's clear that his message of rescue and conservation lives on through Robert and his sister, Bindi.
