Chile’s Stargazing Hotel Marvels at 300 Nights of Clear Skies

Elqui Domos is a hotel strategically located in the heart of the Elqui Valley in central Chile. Surrounded by the Andes Mountains, the unique destination provides visitors with a spectacular stargazing experience in an area best known for its 300 nights of incredibly clear skies per year.

The hotel was designed by Rodrigo Duque Motta Architects, and consists of a lobby, restaurant, seven domed-shape rooms, and four cabins. Every structure features two stories, with the living room and bathroom on the lower level, and the bedrooms located underneath a detachable roof on the second level. This layout provides visitors with the perfect opportunity to stare at the brilliant night sky as they drift off to sleep.

The property also features an astronomic observatory with Ceslestron telescopes. According to the website, “Elqui Domos aims at being a magical destination for resting, introspection, and observation. [We] look forward to providing a mystical experience at the breathtaking Elqui Valley.”
