Creative Storytelling Rings

Riyo Chan and Howard Kwong are the force behind the Hong Kong-based handmade accessories design team, Shannnam. The designers create fun, unique products that incorporate miniature people and scenes into clear plastic jewelry. This series of adorable rings, called Fragmented Chronicles, feature tiny landscapes and snippets of events that the designers call, “100 chronicles of arbitrary dimensions.”

From a recently married couple to a woman spending the afternoon on a park bench, the scenes are fragments of a bigger story. On the website, each ring is paired with a photo of the larger scene to help fill in the gaps of the narrative. The team describes the project as “a glimmer, a touch, a place, a continuity, a dream, captured within suspended streams of consciousness.”

The plastic rings come in multiple sizes and can be ordered through the Shannnam website. Choose from all kinds of fictitious tales and carry around a miniature story on your hand that will spark a sense of wonder and intrigue, and will make for a great conversation piece!
