Role models are important for children, especially young girls. For this reason, the female empowerment podcast Nevertheless dedicated a series of posters to innovative women in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (also known as STEM).
The STEM Role Model series celebrates accomplished women from across the globe, whose names have gone underappreciated. Among them are astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison, biotechnologist Dr. Hayat Sindi, and robotics pioneer Dr. Cynthia Breazeal. With the exception of the late DNA helix scientist Rosalind Franklin, all of the women are living and working today.
Nevertheless made the conscious decision to commission female artists from around the world for the illustrations. These vibrant posters depict a portrait of each woman and include a brief description of their achievements so that viewers can learn about these amazing figures. Additionally, to encourage female empowerment in all places, all 8 of the STEM Role Model series are free to download via Nevertheless‘s website. Even better, the posters are available in 8 languages including English, Spanish, Italian, French, French Canadian, German, Portuguese Brazilian, and Simplified Chinese.
