Redditor Tatsputin is a working dad who finds himself traveling out of state for ten days out of every month, but he takes a piece of his kids with him through their adorably scribbled drawings. While on the plane, the loving father affectionately colors in the drawings his tiny tots made for his trip and hands it back to them upon his return. He modestly states, “Nothing fancy. The kids love them.”
Using primarily colored pencils, the doting dad began by shading in every inch of one of his 4-year-old's portraits. He proceeded to document the finished product, only realizing afterwards that he should have photographed the image before he colored it in, too. He resolved this issue by taking before and after shots of future collaborations, though he'd sometimes be so eager to color them in that he'd forget to take the before image.
As a testament to his forgetfulness, Tatsputin even forgot his colored pencils on one trip and made the executive decision to dabble in digital illustration, coloring his kids' drawings on his iPad. Eventually encouraged by his wife to share his adorably heartwarming routine, Tatsputin uploaded these wonderful, collaborative illustrations to Imgur in an album aptly titled “Coloring my kids art” and shared them on Reddit. He hints at more images to come, saying, “I'm on my flight now, just colored 2 [C]hristmas pics the[y] did for me. A santa pic and an elf pic. I'll be posting those sometime this week.”
