As a space-saving solution for a cramped Parisian restaurant, French design firm Atelier JMCA came up with this intriguing, prism-shaped bar. The cantilever design – supported on only one side – makes the bar look like it's hovering in midair.
The shiny planks combined with the minimalist, geometric-inspired design lends a sophisticated air to the restaurant's modern atmosphere. The surface is not only functional but versatile. It can be used as a traditional bar for sliding drinks across the slick wooden countertop, or it can be set as a two-sided, banquet-style dining table for 12.
