Photographer Travels 900 Miles To Capture Unusual Orange Snowy Owl

In January, when wildlife photographer Julie Maggert heard about an orange-tinted snowy owl near Lake Huron, she knew she had to see it for herself. And in early February, after driving 900 miles over four days and spending nearly 29 hours sitting and waiting, she was rewarded handsomely with the images that she was looking for. Though Maggert spotted the owl several times, she wasn't able to get the clean shot that she was after.

Gravity-Defying Photos Capture the Human Body in Poetic Motion [Interview]

Whether it be in painting, illustration, or photography, movement can be notoriously difficult to communicate in a static medium. This conundrum doesnโ€™t concern Mathieu Forget. In his photographs, fencers leap toward each other with their swords drawn; martial artists and tennis players are suspended in the air; and breakdancers twist around each other, their limbs fluid and graceful. Though captured in single, unmoving images, the energy and dynamism expressed by these figures is remarkably palpable.

JRโ€™s Newest Exhibition Explores His Photographic Projects About Child Refugees

Renowned French artist JR began work on Dรฉplacรฉโ€ขeโ€ขs in 2022, and later, the complementary Les Enfants dโ€™Ouranos series. Both seek to unveil the tumultuous conditions faced by populations in refugee camps around the world, with a particular focus on children. Three years later, these two projects are still as urgent as they are relevant, as evidenced by a new exhibition at Perrotinโ€™s London gallery.
