London-based architecture firm Featherstone Young has recently completed a very cool new house called Ty-Hedfan. Found in a Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales, the Ty-Hedfan or “hovering house” is perched on a hill overhanging a small river. Made largely of slate and stone, this house has a very striking design with the cantilever jutting out over the river and large full height windows which allow for excellent lighting.
An interesting fact about the Ty-Hedfan is that it can be rented out year-round as a vacation home. The house contains two bedrooms, two baths, a study, two guest bedrooms, and the dining room and living room are found in the long overhang above the river. I wouldn't mind vacationing here at all.
