Inspired by a lone picture, Sandra Juto bought some soft alpaca yarn and started crocheting away. For sixty hours she toiled, determined to get the blanket just right. After a few setbacks, the poor unfinished blanket that was laying around for months finally got her beautiful white border.
When it was complete the pictures were shared around the internet, inspiring tens maybe hundreds of people to run out and start crocheting their own granny square blanket. And if not a blanket, she inspired others to take on a project, to take something ordinary and make it extraordinary.
