Writer Jonathan Graziano and his pug Noodle prove that man's best friend can also double as man's best valentine. From the beginning, these two were destined for each other. After Graziano performed a stand-up routine about pugs, an audience member approached him. She said that she ran a Long Island shelter and had a 7-year-old pug who needed a home. When Graziano later visited the shelter, he instantly fell in love with Noodle (the dog in question), brought him home, and has lived happily ever after with him for the past few weeks–giving the two enough time to set Noodle up with his very own Instagram account as a 21st-century dog.
Naturally, when Valentine's Day was on the horizon, Graziano knew he wanted to do something special for his precious pooch. That's when he decided, without a doubt, that Noodle would be his valentine. To celebrate, they traversed to Central Park for a lovey-dovey couples photoshoot that perfectly captures the bond shared between a man and his pug. “I'm just thrilled to have a valentine this year,” gushed Graziano. “We're going to spend the day on the couch eating food and watching crappy television. It's my ideal Valentine's Day. A boyfriend would be nice but like, whatever, a pug it is.”
The proud pug owner then made it Facebook official, hoping to inspire others to not take Valentine's Day too seriously. “I hope people will find it funny and entertaining,” said Noodle's human. “I think Valentine's Day is a holiday with a lot of unnecessary pressure associated with it, and hopefully people who are stressed about who their valentine will be won't worry about it too much.”
