Latvian Hotel Inspired by Musical Rhythms

Entered into an upscale music-themed hotel competition in Jurmala, Latvia, the Hotel Liesma concept is very impressive. Characterized by its faade of vertical wooden posts with a mix of transparent and frosted glass making up the external structure, the Liesma's wooden construction honors the classic architecture of Jurmala, while embracing the surrounding environment.

Architects Jevgenijs Busins and Liva Banka also took into consideration the importance of music in the hotel's design. The waves in the building hint at the inspiration of musical rhythms. The hotel also features a music themed interior, as well as offering plenty of small stages both inside and out in an attempt “to loosen up visitors and make them feel free.” Hotel Liesma brings together new styles and honors past architecture all while celebrating music.
