Beijing-based photographer and performance artist Li Wei boggles the mind with his gravity-defying photography. We we entertained by the multifaceted artist's work from 2011 and he continues to draw our attention with his latest compositions in 2012. Without using any photo manipulating magic with editing tools like Photoshop, Wei presents an impressive portfolio of clever in-camera illusions by expertly utilizing wires for his steady subjects to balance on.
Whether it's Wei himself or one of his fellow performers, each image features floating subjects, often in perplexing positions. Even though we're told the artists rely on their own strength and stability atop invisible props, it's difficult to understand how any of them manage to accomplish such compromising positions with a carefree or stoic expression.
