Hyperrealistic Drawings of Guns Pointed Directly at You

Glock 19

Bodyhammer is a powerful series by artist Robert Longo that gives the first-person viewpoint of someone with a gun pointed right at them. At first, viewers of the images may interpret the symmetrical, geometric portraits as abstract works of art. However, upon realizing that one is looking down the barrel of a gun, they are met with a sinking feeling.

Longo manages to evoke a flood of emotions with his incredible images, which all happen to be hand-drawn with graphite and charcoal on paper. The content of his project is intensified and all the more engrossing by the skilled artist's precision at presenting such an alarmingly aligned angle. The frightening perspective of a lethal weapon staring you right in the face is remarkably intense.
