Aquariums don't only serve as aquatic museum attractions for educational purposes. They're also designed to transport the soothing sea into our hectic, land-dwelling lives. Designers are always looking for unique ways to incorporate them into the home, as we've seen with the aquarium sink. Now, it seems Wayde King and Brett Raymer, stars of Animal Planet's Tanked and co-owners of Acrylic Tank Manufacturing, have found a new way to add an attractive aquarium to the bedroom in the form of a headboard.
The massive headboard tank holds approximately 650 gallons of seawater with an assortment of fish behind the transparent panes. It makes for an aesthetically pleasing display, as well as a relaxing addition to the ambience of a bedroom. As many have quickly pointed out, it also gives a whole new meaning to “waterbeds” and “sleeping with the fishes.”
To see the Tanked bed in person, it is currently on display at the entrance to the Sleepland Gallery at Furnitureland South in Jamestown, North Carolina.
