Photo Contest Finalists Creatively Capture Light in Landscapes

Stunning rays of sunlight bursting through clouds; dramatic shadows cast along the ground of the forest; and rainbows shooting across the sky. These are all the types of light that judges look for in the Velux Lovers of Light competition.

The annual landscape photography event invites photographers to capture the beauty of natural light as it illuminates our world. This year, expert judges sifted through over 15,000 entries from amateur and professional photographers to select the finalists. The ten final images convey a strong sense of light uniquely filling our world. The collection takes viewers on a journey of creative illumination in picturesque environments.

Writer, broadcaster, and member of the judging panel, Tom Dyckhoff, said, “As well as considering the composition and technical ability of each photograph, we also looked for emotion and feeling in each of the entries. We wanted to choose entrants who we felt had truly embraced and been inspired by natural light."
