As an illustrator and writer living in Seattle, she chronicles illustration, embroidery, and beyond through her blog Brown Paper Bag and Instagram @brwnpaperbag. She wrote a book about embroidery artist Sarah K. Benning titled "Embroidered Life" that was published by Chronicle Books in 2019. Sara is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. Florida High Schooler Couldn’t Talk About Being Gay in Graduation Speech, So He Talked About His “Curly Hair”

Senior class president Zander Moricz was given explicit instructions as he planned his graduation address to the student body. If he was going to criticize Florida’s new “Don’t Say Gay” law, the school administration would cut his mic mid-speech. Moricz, an openly gay student, had been involved in LGBTQ+ activism prior to the ceremony.

Bomb-Sweeping Dog Switches Sides to Ukraine After Being Abandoned by Russian Troops

Dogs and their enhanced sense of smell have been an integral part of helping the Ukrainian army fight against the Russian invasion. In fact, courageous pups in Ukraine have even been awarded medals of honor for their ability to detect and clear explosive devices. The Ukrainian army recently added a new canine recruit to their force, and he came by way of Russia.

Astrophysics Grad Takes Epic Graduation Photo Under a Total Lunar Eclipse

On the day of Vincent Ledvina’s college graduation, the stars aligned to create a truly spectacular photo. Well, it wasn't the stars as much as it was the Moon and the Earth; an awe-inspiring total lunar eclipse happened on the same day as his ceremony. For about 85 minutes on Sunday, May 15, 2022, the Moon was completely in Earth’s shadow and transformed into a reddish-orange orb.
