Emma Taggart is a Staff Writer and Video Editor at My Modern Met. She earned a BA in Fashion and Textile Design at the University of Ulster in Belfast. Originally from Northern Ireland, she lived in Berlin for many years, where she fostered a career in the arts, dabbling in everything from illustration and animation to music and ceramics. She now calls Edinburgh home, where she continues to work as a writer, illustrator, and ceramicist. Her ceramics, often combined with hand-painted animation frames, capture playful scenes that celebrate freedom and movement, and blend her passion for art with storytelling. Musician Shares Goodbye Tribute to His Dog With an Acoustic Cover of ‘What a Wonderful World’

They say “dog is man’s best friend,” and there is no statement truer for one musician named Trench. His dog Maple has been a constant companion for the last 12 years. Trench is known for sharing adorable videos of himself playing cover songs for Maple on his guitar, who seems to be totally enamored by every note. Sadly, Maple passed away peacefully earlier this month, but Trench recently shared a heartwarming tribute to her.

Artist Creates Charming Animal Sculptures From Found Seashells at the Beach

Collecting shells and pebbles on the beach is a popular pastime for many, but for New York-based artist Anna Chan, it’s become “a bit of an obsession.” Chan is a jewelry designer, but just like many others, her work slowed down during the COVID-19 lockdown. She and her 10-year-old daughter spent their days at the beach, where they began collecting seashells and making animal-inspired sculptures from them.
