Emma Taggart is a Staff Writer and Video Editor at My Modern Met. She earned a BA in Fashion and Textile Design at the University of Ulster in Belfast. Originally from Northern Ireland, she lived in Berlin for many years, where she fostered a career in the arts, dabbling in everything from illustration and animation to music and ceramics. She now calls Edinburgh home, where she continues to work as a writer, illustrator, and ceramicist. Her ceramics, often combined with hand-painted animation frames, capture playful scenes that celebrate freedom and movement, and blend her passion for art with storytelling. It’s selling its bread buns inside a special box that makes it look like they’re someone’s abs.

Feline-Friendly Furniture Gives Cats a Seat at the Table and Makes Them the Centerpiece

Those that share their home with a feline friend know that cats are curious creatures. They might act aloof, but most house cats want to be near us, even if it’s just to watch what we’re doing. With this in mind, Japanese retailer Dinos released a table designed for both humans and cats to sit together. The all-natural oak table features a perch underneath it, and a hole in the center of the tabletop.

“Then and Now” Portraits of Celebrities With Their Younger Selves

If you could go back in time and meet your younger self, wouldn’t you want a photo to remember the bizzaro moment? Graphic designer Ard Gelinck uses Photoshop as a sort of time machine, creating images that appear as though celebrities are hanging out with their past selves. He combines existing photos of famous faces into one seamless “then and now” shot, revealing how they’ve aged over time.
