Ketanji Brown Jackson Makes History as the Supreme Court’s First Black Female Justice
Ketanji Brown Jackson has made history as the first Black woman to be confirmed as a Supreme Court Justice. On Thursday, April 7, 2022, President Biden's nominee was confirmed by a vote of 53 to 47. She will replace Justice Stephen Beyer, who she actually clerked for early in her career. In the court's 233-year-history, only six justices have been women and only three have been Black.
