Jessica Stewart is a Staff Editor and Digital Media Specialist for My Modern Met, as well as a curator and art historian. Since 2020, she is also one of the co-hosts of the My Modern Met Top Artist Podcast. She earned her MA in Renaissance Studies from University College London and now lives in Rome, Italy. She cultivated expertise in street art which led to the purchase of her photographic archive by the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia in 2014. When she’s not spending time with her three dogs, she also manages the studio of a successful street artist. Metal Lungs Design Uses Algae To Convert Carbon Dioxide Into Oxygen

Lungs—and breathing clearly—have been on the world's mind over the past few years. And now, a group of South Korean artists has designed a concept that takes breathing to a new level. Super Lung is a metal lung concept that uses algae to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen. Designed by Bongkyu Song of BKID in collaboration with artists Moon and Jeon, these “new” lungs take a cue from the highly efficient respiratory system of birds.

Satellite Images Capture Giant Underwater Volcano Eruption Near Tonga

On Saturday, the eruption of a massive underwater volcano in the South Pacific caused a wave of tsunami warnings around the globe. Located close to the island nation of Tonga, the Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha’apai volcano's violent eruption was captured on numerous satellites. After it exploded again on Sunday, the U.S.-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Center stated that a nearly 3-foot-high wave had flooded part of  Nuku'alofa, Tonga's capital.

Amy Schneider Becomes Jeopardy’s First Female Millionaire

Amy Schneider has made history by becoming the first woman to win over $1 million on Jeopardy! Only three other players in history have reached this milestone during regular season play, including Ken Jennings, who now hosts the iconic quiz show. As the first to pass $1 million, which he did in 2004, it seemed fitting that he should be on hand to congratulate her. Schneider earned this record during her 28th win on January 7.
