Proud Crocodile Father Gives Piggyback Ride to Over 100 of His Children

Indian wildlife and conservation photographer Dhritiman Mukherjee has spent the past 20 years dedicating his life to the documentation and protection of animals. Spending over 280 days a year in the field, he's seen many incredible moments. Most recently, his spectacular image of an endangered crocodile carrying its babies through the water is making waves online. Mukherjee's photograph shows a male gharial giving a ride to more than 100 of his babies.

Adorable Piglet Has Her Own Newborn Photoshoot Just Like a Baby Human

Newborn photoshoots are often reserved for humans, but photographer Cashlie White shows that baby animals rival them in cuteness. She recently shared a series featuring an adorable piglet named Dynamite who is outfitted with all the things you'd typically see in newborn portraits—soft blankets, stuffed animals, and tiny headbands. The only difference? Dynamite has a shiny pink snout. Coupled with her sleepy smile, you can’t help but say “aww” to each of these sweet photos.

Landmine Detecting Rat Receives Gold Medal for Animal Bravery

You may have heard of dogs being trained to detect explosives, but did you know that rats can also do the job?  In fact, one exceptional rat is being rewarded for his skills and honored for his courage. Magawa, an African giant pouched rat, was just awarded the PDSA Gold Medal for life-saving bravery. He's the first rat in the 77-year history of the awards to win a medal.
