Museum of Paper Cleverly Designed With a Roof That Looks Like a Sheet of Folded Paper

A former supermarket being transformed into a museum is getting a makeover by BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group). The Museum of Paper is located in Denmark, as paper art is a deeply rooted part of the country's cultural heritage. BIG's design calls for a lightweight roof structure that looks like a single folded sheet of paper in a stunning combination of functionality and aesthetics.

World’s First Museum for Video Game Art Will Open in Japan

Much like movies, video games are also the brainchild of artists, from character design to the soundtrack. In an effort to pay tribute to the art of video games, Japanese developer Daiwa House has just broken ground on a Game Art Museum, slated to open in the summer of 2027. Located in Yokohama, this state-of-the-art facility will be the first of its kind in the world. Designed by Kume Sekkei Co.

Circular Exhibition Center in Shanghai Wrapped in Undulating Staircase Inspired by Chinese Moon Bridges

Heatherwick Studio is adding its creative touch to Shanghai's West Bund waterfront by designing a large exhibition space that is currently under construction. Called the West Bund Orbit, its design encourages the public to experience the building from both the interior and exterior. Wrapped in undulating ribbons that act as staircases, it's intended to become a new landmark on the Huangpu riverside.

Innovative Concept Takes Visitors Underground in the National Archeological Museum of Athens

Though their proposal didn't win the competition, Kengo Kuma and Associates and K-Studio created a memorable design for the expansion of the National Archeological Museum in Athens, Greece. Titled Unearth, the underground extension looks like it was formed by slightly raising the earth as a tent for archeological treasures. The idea is that the design evokes the concept of buried treasure in an effort to remind the public of the museum's history.
