Architects Imagine a Lush ‘Garden City’ That Would Provide Locally Sourced Food for Paris

With a warming climate and endlessly growing urban areas, the way in which cities access food sources and nature is increasingly important. In this conceptual project by architecture firm Rescubika, the designers imagine a Garden City of the Crescent Moon that would provide a critical resource for Paris. The proposal features a series of lush garden types that follows the existing crescent shape of Lac des Minimes in the Bois de Vincennes.

Architect Attached a Giant Skateboard Ramp to a House That Doubles as a Deck

Architect Macu Bulgubure has made one client’s dream a reality in Rosaria, Argentina. Bulgubure incorporated the client's love for skateboarding onto the home by attaching a large ramp to the back of the structure. The ramp acts as a defining feature of the house.

Danish architect Dorte Mandrup is known for her elegant and sculptural projects that thoughtfully adapt to unique sites around the world. Her firm's recent project known as the Ilulissat Icefjord Centre is one of them; it is a research and visitor center that tells a hauntingly beautiful story about climate change and our environment. Ilulissat is located on the western coast of Greenland just 250 kilometers, or about 150 miles, away from the Arctic Circle.
