Photographer Explores Tbilisi’s Mysterious Underground Soviet-Era City

Hidden beneath the streets of Tbilisi, Georgia is a whole other world—or rather, a time capsule of the Soviet era. It's a world that photographer Davit Tabagari discovered during spring 2021 and that has fascinated him ever since. A fan of photography since childhood, he's been using his passion to document the historic underground shelters in Tbilisi. In 1921, the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic was formed and then incorporated into the Soviet Union.

Inspiring Winning Images from the 2021 Travel Photographer of the Year Awards

The 2021 Travel Photographer of the Year awards are back to remind us of how glorious the world truly is. Photographers from 151 countries submitted their best images, but it was Fortunato Gatto of Italy that took home the top prize. Gatto, who has called Scotland his home since 2007, was selected as the overall winner based on his portfolio of stunning abstract landscapes taken in Alaska.

Out-of-This-World Winners of the ASTRO2021 Photo Contest

Astrophotographers from 30 nations entered their best work into the inaugural photo competition from the Save a Star non-profit. ASTRO2021 is an extension of the group's mission to save the night sky from light pollution. The collection of winning photos certainly makes a great case for keeping our night skies clear and visible. Australian photographer Andy Campbell was awarded the title of Astronomy Photographer of 2021.
