Artist Sculpts Polymer Clay Into Colorful Swirling Landscapes

Sweden-based artist Alisa Lariushkina continues to find new and mesmerizing ways of using polymer air-dry clay. Inspired by famous painters like Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet, she masterfully transforms an array of Japanese air-dry clay into high-relief depictions of lush, bucolic landscapes. “I'm a self-taught artist, been working with air-dry polymer clay for about six years in my own technique,” Lariushkina explains to My Modern Met.

Tiny Treehouses Are Meticulously Handcrafted Within Bonsai Trees of All Sizes

Animator and artist Dave Creek sadly passed away after a skydiving accident in January 2021. A man of many talents, he was perhaps best known as the lead character designer on the beloved animated show Bob's Burgers. But beyond animation, he had a second creative passion: building miniature treehouses within bonsai trees. In celebration of his work, we want to showcase these incredible handcrafted worlds. Bonsai trees have long been symbols of harmony and contemplation.
