Hypnotic Video of Striped Eel Catfish Walking in Unison Across the Ocean Floor

In a stunning example of group defense, a huge mass of juvenile striped eel catfish move as one to fend off predators. A video taken by Marie-Laure Vergne, an instructor at the  Abyss Dive Center Bali, shows these youngsters as they move across the ocean floor. Undulating in a mass, their movements are mesmerizing. As adults, the striped eel catfish is highly venomous and can inflict real pain.

Divers Encounter Mysterious Giant Egg Sac Full of Baby Squid

In Norway, a team of divers unexpectedly came across an enormous gelatinous egg sac full of baby squid, proving that truth continues to be stranger (and cooler) than fiction. The team of divers from the research vessel of REV Ocean were returning from a WWII shipwreck 200 meters (about 656 feet) off the coast of Ørsta, Norway when they experienced a surprising brush with mysteries of the blue. Most dance routines are practiced countless times before they’re performed, but the legendary Nicholas Brothers could dazzle audiences on the first take. A clip from the movie Stormy Weather (1943)—featuring Cab Calloway and his orchestra performing Jumpin Jive—captures Fayard (1914–2006) and Harold (1921–2000) Nicholas jumping into tap-dancing action to perform an incredible routine that was completely unrehearsed and recorded in one take.
