Dark Wonderland – Kahori Maki (11 illustrations)

Hailing from Tokyo, Kahori Maki's illustrations are exquisitely detailed and beautiful – in a dark, goth kind of way. Her flower inspired pieces almost seem to jump out as she magnificently balances the contrast between black and white. Born in 1969, Kahori graduated from Japan University Art Department in 1992. Since moving to New York in 1994, Maki continues to work as a freelance illustrator and has worked for Chanel, Vogue, Elle, Nylon, and many more.
