Succulents have a reputation for being cute plants. Many types have bulbous leaves and little buds that make them absolutely adorable to have planted on your window sill. But of the varieties, the Conophytum bilobum, aka the “heart succulent,” might be the most charming of all. These plants grow in tiny clusters and look like cartoon hearts are sprouting from the ground.
Like other succulents, the Conophytum bilobum is easy to care for. You don’t have to baby them like other plants; simply put them in a well-draining pot, place them in a location where they’ll get bright sun for a few hours a day, and be sure not to overwater them. They’ll thrive in the right environment and sprout little flowers in the fall and winter months.
Native to South Africa, the heart succulent can be a challenge to obtain in other locations and are considered rare seeds. If you’re a green thumb who would like to try growing them for yourself, one online shop called Plant Valley is now selling a pack of 10 seeds.
The Conophytum bilobum is a cute, heart-shaped succulent.
