Reddit Asks Artist to Turn Adorable Photo Into Painting and She Delivers Something Even More Magical

Ever since my niece saw Toy Story, she shouts “I’m leaving!” and then peeks at her room like this from r/aww

Reddit can be a magical place where strangers across the internet come together in unexpected ways. Redditors finestjun and ofcabbagesandkings14 (aka Sarah Brown) have shown what this looks like in a heartwarming story. It started when finestjun shared an adorable picture of his young niece peering into her empty bedroom. Accompanying the image, finestjun wrote, “Ever since my niece saw Toy Story, she shouts ‘I’m leaving!’ and then peeks at her room like this.”

The sweet scene was a hit on the subreddit r/awww where it was upvoted over 200,000 times. As the comments poured in, a Redditor named MTCal2016 mused, “This picture should be turned into a painting.” Another user tagged Brown in that comment and she got to work shortly after. When complete, Brown shared her watercolor painting on the site. It features finestjun’s niece still peeking into her doorway, but it has one big change— the toys came to life! Her Winnie the Pooh doll gestures towards a dinosaur that’s scaling the drawers, and, of course, Woody from Toy Story is there, too, at the center of the festivities.

Finestjun was blown away by Brown’s handiwork. “Oh my god, this is the cutest drawing ever! I can’t wait to show this to her family,” he said. Brown also commented on how good the exchange made her feel. “It was an absolute pleasure to make a magical moment come to life—and also to draw attention to traditional art forms,” she explained. “Every message in my inbox and little follow I've gotten this morning has made me cry literal tears. Thanks for making MY day as well!”

When Redditor finestjun posted a picture of his niece peering into her room to see if her toys were alive (a la Toy Story), other users thought it should be a painting. Fellow Redditor ofcabbagesandkings14 (aka Sarah Brown) got started.

Message received reddit…The painting of the little girl is in progress 😉 from r/aww

Shortly after, she presented Reddit with this finished watercolor piece—with the niece's toys come to life!

Hey everyone! Reddit asked me to recreate the little girl looking for her toys to come to life as a painting. So I stayed up last night…and here it is ☺️ from r/aww
