Breathtaking 4K Timelapse of Iceland Showcases Nature’s Masterful Artistry

Photographer Henry Jun Wah Lee has revealed that Iceland is a country filled with sunset colors and heavenly landscapes. For his Odyssey 4K time-lapse video, the artist was able to impressively demonstrate this region's natural beauty in less than 5 minutes. During this time, viewers will feel as though they're there standing amidst Iceland's most magical scenery and ideal climates. “The light during midnight sun is a surreal and unforgettable experience,” Lee mentions. “Hues of pinks, purples, reds and oranges that you may be lucky to see for a few minutes during a normal sunrise/sunset can explode for hours in an epic display of nature's masterful artistry.”

While the video may appear effortlessly beautiful, the photographer did encounter some difficulties during his creative process. “Shot over two weeks from late June through early July in Iceland, finding the best spots to experience these conditions was not easy,” he explains. “We had to navigate Iceland's fickle weather. The southern half of the island was storming most of the time. Knowledge of the island's various micro climates and scenic locations were important in figuring out where to go for any given night. So was staying mobile and keeping all options open. Each day was a new and unexpected adventure.”

To sum up his memorable and artistic trip, Lee poetically states, “In the end, the odyssey is about the journey and its experiences rather than about the destination.”
