For nearly three years now, I’ve shared so many amazing artists, designers, and creative people on My Modern Met—those whose incredible talents and endeavors deserve to be recognized. This not only inspires you, our fantastic community of readers, but me as well. It’s why I’m excited to have curated an exhibition that celebrates people whose work I deeply admire. The show is called Inside / Outside, and it explores the interior and exterior spaces as imagined by artists and illustrators.
Each of the eight women featured have their own interpretation of what these places mean to them. Some, such as Sarah Jacoby, feature iconic, quirky pieces of outdoor yard furniture—the plastic pink flamingo. Other artists offer an abstracted look at the world. Sarajo Frieden’s burstforth is a brilliant fusion of colors, textures, and motifs you’d find in a thriving garden.
Inside / Outside opens this Saturday, August 13 at the Flower Pepper Gallery in Pasadena, California. If you’re local to the Los Angeles metro area, please join us at the gallery opening from 6:30PM to 9:30PM. But if you can’t make then, don’t worry—the show will be on view until September 13, 2016. Check out some of the pieces, below.
