If you've been to Paris, you've probably made a pilgrimage to the Louvre, the world's biggest and most visited art museum. Seeing this famous site in the daytime is a dream come true for any art lover, but imagine what it would be like to have the entire museum to yourself for a night. While this may seem like a Parisian pipe dream, Airbnb is making it more possible than you might think.
On April 30, Airbnb will magically transform the museum into an art hotel, where one lucky Louvre-goer and their guest will have a special kind of soirée. “For the first time ever, passionate art-lovers will have the chance to cozy up to priceless masterpieces, including the Mona Lisa, and sleep under the Louvre’s iconic glass Pyramid in a ‘mini-pyramid' that will be specially designed to celebrate the building’s 30th anniversary,” Airbnb explains in a press release.
Wondering what's on the agenda? First, the fortunate pair will be given a “be-spoke” tour of the collection by a top art historian. They will then toast their drinks under the watchful eye of the Mona Lisa, have dinner with the Venus de Milo, and attend an acoustic concert in the luxurious apartments of Napoleon III. Finally, at the end of the night, they will “retire to their bedroom under the Pyramid for what promises to be a masterpiece of a sleepover.”
If this sounds like your kind of night at the museum, you can enter the contest through the Airbnb website. If you aren't selected for this special museum sleepover, don't despair; from May until the end of the year, Airbnb will announce and offer other experiences at the Louvre “that will celebrate [the] community and welcome Parisians and international travelers to rediscover the museum in a new and authentic way.”
Bonne chance!
Airbnb is offering a lucky winner and their guest a chance to spend the night in the world-famous Louvre. This spectacular soirée will start with drinks under the watchful eye of the Mona Lisa.
Then, the duo will join the Venus de Milo for dinner…
And they'll enjoy a private concert in the apartments of Napoleon III.
At the end of the night, they'll retreat to their very own petite pyramid!
You can enter to win this one-of-a-kind night at the museum on the Airbnb website.
