Everybody loves getting mail, but perhaps not as much as Pippa the dog. Each day that Brisbane mailman Martin Studer walks down the street on which Pippa's family lives, the dog runs toward him with excitement. Unfortunately, not all days bring mail. Studer writes on Facebook, “Sometimes, Pippa comes out for the daily delivery but there’s no mail for her to collect.” Instead of just giving the kind dog a pat and turning around, Studer goes above and beyond the duties of a mail deliverer. “I have to improvise,” he calls it.
His “improvisation” is to create mail for Pippa, so she'll never be disappointed by a “no-mail” day. He hands her an empty envelope with “Mail for Pippa” written on the front, which she promptly takes in her mouth and delivers to her home—her tail wags with happiness and anticipation for tomorrow's envelope.
