Jewelry Designed to Look Like Fashionable Dragon Scale Armor

Artisans Xaria Knight and Bryan Poole of Pixie Shadow Craft create wearable art for the “modern day warrior.” Combining traditional fabrication techniques—think Medieval chain mail—with a contemporary aesthetic, they produce dragon scale armor, gloves, and harnesses for use in cosplay or as a statement-making addition to your everyday attire. The unique pieces incorporate the stainless steel chain mail with layers of metal scallops.

Frozen Popsicles Made From 100 Different Polluted Water Sources

Three design students in Taiwan teamed up for the Polluted Water Popsicles project, which contrasts art aesthetics with environmental activism. The group went to 100 different polluted water sources in Taiwan, collecting samples that they then froze into popsicles. These popsicles were then turned into 1:1 poly models and wrapped in beautiful packaging to contrast our tendency to overlook that which is ugly and problematic for the sake of aesthetics.

Artists Crochet Giant Sea Urchin Installations That Interact with Their Surroundings

For this year's i Light Marina Bay Festival, a sustainability-focused, Singapore-based spectacle, Choi+Shine Architects created The Urchins, a series of 3 interactive installations. The crochet sea urchin sculptures have been meticulously crafted by hand, offering attendees a one-of-a-kind immersive experience. Speaking to the event's theme of sustainability. each 56-foot-tall work of interactive art symbolizes the beauty and diversity of nature. Though, at night, the works are spotlit by artificial luminescence, during the day, The Urchins rely on natural light to cast ephemeral, ever-changing shadows.
