Harvard Paid $27 for a Copy of the Magna Carta, Turns Out To Be a Rare Original

In 1946, Harvard Law School scored what it viewed as a great deal when it paid $27.50 for a copy of the Magna Carta. Almost 100 years later, that bargain turned out even better than they imagined, as scholars have just revealed that the “copy” is actually a rare original. This makes it just one of seven created after King Edward I's 1300 declaration. Interestingly, Harvard has its digitization project to thank for the discovery.

Swedish Family Encloses Entire Home in Greenhouse Glass to Create Year-Round Warmth

While many people who live in colder climates dream of relocating to sunnier places, Stochholm natives Marie Granmar and Charles Sacilotto have taken a different approach to staying warm. Instead of packing up their life and moving, they created a warmer climate at home by enclosing their house in a giant greenhouse. The couple drew inspiration from architect Bengt Warne, who pioneered the first Naturhus (Nature House) in 1976.

Immersive LED Displays Transform a Korean Resort Into a Shimmering Crystal Palace

In 1851, London hosted the Great Exhibition in what would become one of the world’s finest examples of modern architecture: the Crystal Palace. Complete with dramatic arches and a shimmering, transparent facade, the palace was absolutely gargantuan. It integrated 293,000 panes of glass, a 128-foot-high ceiling, and housed more than 14,000 exhibitors from around the world.

Luxury Resort on Dubai’s Coast Inspired by the Elegance of Superyachts

Inspired by the elegance of superyachts, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab has opened on the Dubai coastline. The hotel, created by architect Shaun Killa of Killa Design, is situated between the Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel, which are shaped like a sail and a wave, respectively. Completing Jumeirah's trilogy of nautical hotels, Marsa Al Arab's fluid architecture creates the illusion of movement.
