Hundreds of Wind Chimes Hang From a Rainbow of Ribbons

Currently showing at the 18th Biennale of Sydney is a gorgeous installation consisting of hundreds of bamboo wind chimes hanging from rows of colored ribbons. Called Knock On The Sky Listen To The Sound, it's by artist Tiffany Singh and it's on view in a cavernous hall of Pier 2/3 at nearby Walsh Bay. Singh invites visitors to be a part of her artwork.

Amazing Paper Bird Sculptures Reveal Their Internal Anatomy

We've seen our fair share of paper bird sculptures, but artist Diana Beltran Herrera takes the art of hand-crafting the delicately ornate creatures in a new direction. Rather than simply constructing the outward appearance of the multilayered bird figurines, the Colombian artist exposes an additional layer of paper-cut intricacy. Through a series of carefully placed clear vinyl film, we get a window into the inner constructs of these replicated creatures.

Teacher Draws Incredible Whiteboard Murals at Lunch Break

The multifaceted works of painter Gregory Euclide aren't confined to museums and galleries. The Minnesota high school teacher and artist uses his time wisely, teaching his students while simultaneously exercising his artistic talents. During his 25-minute lunch breaks, Euclide would embark on a personal challenge requiring the skilled painter to produce impeccably detailed and wildly creative landscape paintings in sumi ink on the school's whiteboards. What he wound up with does not disappoint!

Viral Instagram Photo of San Diego’s Fireworks Fail

It's the Instagram photo that's soaring through the web. Ben Baller took this incredible shot of one of the biggest fails in fireworks history. Last night, if you were in San Diego you may have witnessed the result of a technical glitch that caused what was suppose to be 18 minutes of fireworks to go off in about 15 seconds. Ironically, San Diego's Independence Day Fireworks spectacular is called the “Big Bay Boom.
