Poland’s Mind-Melting Crooked House

You may recall the unusual architectural constructs created by photo manipulation expert Michael Jantzen and think you know better than to believe that such wacky, funhouse-like structures actually exist in this world, but think again. Krzywy Domek, translated as Crooked House, is a shopping center in Sopot, Poland that curves and slants for real! There's no photo editing tools used to depict this unconventionally structured edifice.

Intricately Designed Linocut Portraits

In 2010, graphic designer Hubert Tereszkiewicz earned his BFA from the University of Silesia in Cieszyn, Poland. While most of his works lie heavily in poster design, the young artist enjoys exploring traditional design techniques like printmaking. In his series of linocuts, simply labeled as Linocuts, Tereszkiewicz intricately carves sheets of linoleum to produce delicately stylized portraits. The amount of meticulous detail in each square-inch is breathtaking.

Whisked Away in an Immaculate Dream

In this series titled Immaculate Dream, photographer Nicoline Patricia Malina whisks us away to another world with gorgeous shots that almost look as though they were taken in infrared. The monochrome light blue color works perfectly within the scenes, making the beautiful model really stand out in the seemingly chilly background. Malina was born in Surabaya, Indonesia and studied Fine Art in Utrecht, Netherlands.

The France-based, self-taught fine art photographer amazes us with her skills, not just for taking pictures but for creating them. “Early on, as a child, I found shelter in my imagination,” she writes.
