The Japanese art director uses her masterfully carving skills and whimsical ideas to transform apples, oranges, and bananas into surreal arrangements that look like they've been digitally altered. With some clever cutting, her fruits look like they've been spliced together or altered into abstract forms of art. Yoshida utilizes all parts of the food to make her ideas pop.

Pink Gives Out 2,000 Banned Books at Concerts in Florida

In the 2022 to 2023 school year, 3,362 individual book bans went into effect across 1,557 unique titles. This is an increase over last year's totals, and Florida is leading the book-banning charge. The banned titles include a children's book about Anne Hutchinson, one of the first Rhode Islanders and a female preacher put on trial by puritans, Beloved by Toni Morrison, and The Family Book by Todd Parr.

Restored Glass Negatives Capture Daily Life in 19th-Century New England

In 2019, documentary photographer and photo preservationist Terri Cappucci learned about a large collection of glass plate negatives from a co-worker. The current owner of the collection was downsizing and wouldn't be able to keep them. Cappucci, who had been producing her own 19th-century photographs using the wet plate collodion process for many years, was the ideal person to take ownership of the vast collection.
