Found Wood With Colorful Stained Glass Embedded Within Cast Prismatic Shadows on the Beach

In a bid to simply express the “magic of all living things,” English artist Louise Durham creates tall land sculptures made from reclaimed wood and vibrant stained glass. The artist is based in the coastal town of Shoreham-by-Sea, where she often places her finished pieces for people to enjoy. Durham hand-cuts and embeds colored glass pieces into wooden slabs, arranged in rainbow formations.

World’s Largest Intact Mosaic Is on View in the Basement of a Luxury Hotel in Turkey

Mosaic floors abounded in the ancient Mediterranean and Near East. In temples, churches, and private homes, mosaics illustrated scenes from mythology or boasted geometric motifs. Modern developers frequently encounter these floors when excavating in places such as Italy or Turkey. In 2010, workers encountered an especially impressive mosaic while digging the foundation for a new hotel in Antakya, Turkey.

Cabin ANNA by Caspar Schols makes the relationship between the building and nature flexible by incorporating adjustable walls. The unique cabin is defined by two sliding shells of enclosure on tracks. The glass enclosure allows guests to stay visually connected to the outside but guarded from the elements.
