Beer labels already have pretty incredible print designs and now, with this series called Beer Labels in Motion, the high-quality custom labels are even better than before. In the past few months, Boston-based video editor Trevor Carmick has taken to transforming the still images of his favorite craft beers into moving GIFs. Each week, he posts a new selection on his Tumblr blog, producing creative animations that bring life to the otherwise motionless designs.
In Carmick's selections, we see things like a monkey astronaut floating around in space on the Bitter American label by 21st Amendment Brewery; the mesmerizing movement of Magic Hat #9's trippy swirls; and a private detective popping up out of corn fields on the Private Rye Bire De Garde by Jack's Abby Brewing. Along with the clever motion design, Carmick also introduces his audience to the adventurous flavors of many delicious–and possibly unfamiliar–pale ales, lagers, and IPAs. Is it time for happy hour?
