Space Saving Magnetic Strips Hang Glass Bottles from Fridge Ceiling

Engineer and product designer Brian Conti opened his refrigerator and observed the same problem that many of us have – glass beverage bottles were crowding the limited and precious amount of space inside. After some thought, he realized that the unused fridge ceiling could potentially solve his dilemma. Conti's solution is bottleLoft, a magnetic strip that adheres to the top and keeps drinks off the shelves.

Each bottleLoft is comprised of three neodymium magnets, three custom designed and machined steel cups to focus magnetic strength, one specifically-molded plastic rail, and one strip of 3M VHB (very high bond) tape. The adhesive is a special low-temperature application that's suitable for a refrigerator. Conti created the bottleLoft to attract a standard bottle cap and it can also hold an additional 3.6 pounds.

To make this idea a reality, Conti has taken to Kickstarter to fund the project. Backer support will allow him to have an injection mold of the magnet rail produced. You still have time to purchase your very own bottleLoft before the funding period ends on November 9.
