Landscape photographer Kilian Schnberger's fascination with nature often translates into stunning projects including Brothers Grimm's Homeland and Cloud Forest. Yet another gorgeous series, Braveheart's Legacy, features the Scottish Highlands and honors the homeland of William Wallace, aka Braveheart. Schnberger explains, “The landscape retains, especially under rainy conditions, the ancient spirit of the lifetime of this Scottish national hero.”
The colorblind photographer has a magical way of capturing the essence of a place even without fully being able to decipher the vibrant surrounding colors. With great patience, the artist captures the perfect light to convey the moody atmosphere of the mysteriously foggy, rainy landscape.
Schnberger says, “My aim was not just taking pictures of natural scenes–rather, I wanted to create visually accessible places where the viewer can virtually experience the wild Scottish landscape and some historical sites, too.”
