Let this be your must-see video of the day! Pixel is a dance show where dancers react to their virtual environment. Working with illusion, the dancers jump, roll and sway to the music and to the digital projection mapping surrounding them. The idea emerged in a meeting between Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne. Mourad Merzouki was put in charge of the artistic direction and choreography. Mourad wanted to find new ways to bring the real world together with the virtual one. He experimented between dance and interactive video and looked to Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne for the digital design.
This video is cut from the actual show, held on the last day of creation, November 14th, 2014. It premiered at Maison des Arts de Crteil, a cultural center in Crteil, France where it ran from November 15th to November 22nd. Tonight there is a showing at Hippodrome theater in Douai. On February 5, 2015 it will be shown at the Opra Berlioz of Corum in Montpellier. Unfortunately, or fortunately for the dance crew, tickets are already sold out. Let's hope this makes its way, not just around France, but around the world.
