Traditional gift paper might seem like your only choice during the holidays, but there are many alternatives to wrapping paper. One eco-friendly way is through fabric gift wrap, but that’s largely left up to the cloth that you have at your disposal. The Heilbronner Stimme, a daily newspaper in Germany, came up with another Christmas wrapping paper alternative that anyone who picks this particular issue can use. They devoted a full-page spread to printing vibrant patterns that double as gift paper.
Redditor PlanetGG shared a photo of the paper, which has two distinct geometric patterns. One features a horizontal orange set of stripes with a snowflake-like motif. The other is a vertical composition that has Christmas symbols—like presents and snowflakes—dangling from fine white lines against a greenish backdrop.
PlanetGG didn’t know why these pages were printed, but it certainly is a helpful practice. People will often use newspaper pages as wrapping—some by choice, others by necessity—so this is an easy way to make their gifts more festive.
A newspaper in Germany got into the festive spirit and decided to print two full pages of patterns that can be used as a gift wrapping alternative.
